Shanly Homes is a well established property development company which has developed a strong reputation for product excellence and thoughtful architectural design. Specialising in small to medium size developments in desirable locations, Shanly Homes is also committed to delivering sustainable features above and beyond Building Regulation requirements.
The culture of the organisation is one of challenge, creativity and flexibility. The management recognise that the continued success and growth of the business, and maintaining its reputation for excellence will be driven to a great extent by the quality of the team.
The Shanly Group engaged Innergy to conduct a review of its people management, feedback the findings and recommend and deliver management development.
Innergy carried out an online employee survey to identify key strengths and opportunities to further improve and fed back the findings to the senior management.
In recognition of anticipated growth of the business and the need to attract external talent, Innergy also developed and ran a Recruitment and Selection workshop with the management team to ensure best practice.
From the findings on the employee survey and building on Innergy’s significant HR management experience specific actions were taken away for implementation to improve further best practice people management across the business.
The Recruitment and Selection workshop not only developed interviewing skills and techniques but stimulated management agreement to implement the best practice approaches in this area, with the aim of both reducing recruitment costs and ensuring only ‘A’ players joined the Shanly team.
The feedback was fantastically positive. In particular they liked:
- the interactive coaching led approach, which forced people to think
- having time to reflect
- being challenged by Innergy
- the focus on action and implementation
- being able to share and reflect on existing methods with colleagues
“What worked particularly well was the way that our HR concerns were quickly transformed into simple, bespoke and solution-driven strategies. Within a very short period Innergy had highlighted exactly what HR issues needed focus within our organisation, and then how we should move forward.
Innergy led the way for us but ensured we were actively involved in the whole process, to guarantee buy in and real ongoing improvements. I would certainly recommend Innergy to anyone who wants to analyse and improve how they work with their people.”
