Competency Frameworks
Competency Frameworks

A Competency Framework is an indication from you to your staff of the expected areas and levels of performance.  It provides your employees with a map or indication of the behaviours that will be recognised, valued and rewarded, as well as providing guidance to managers who have to assess their staff against these behaviours.

As such, the Innergy Competency Framework (“STEPS”) is designed to:

  • Provide your employees with a set of objectives to work towards so they are clear about how they are expected to perform their jobs.
  • Provide your employees with a detailed developmental map for their ongoing training and progression up the career ladder.
  • Ensure the appraisal and recruitment systems are fair
  • Develop a link between your organisational vision and your employee’s personal objectives.

Housed on your own server or intranet, the framework will identify the key steps that are required by your employees in relation to their personal development over a 12 month period.

Furthermore, it will provide staff with a motivational overview of the available areas of potential growth for them within your organisational hierarchy.

Similarly, the framework will overview the initial induction stages for any new starter and the key program they follow when starting in the business.

When designing your framework, we spend an extended period of time getting to know you and your business, often concentrating on three key areas, Customer-Facing (sales), Operations and Support Services, to represent the different roles within the organisation.

Only measurable components are included and we restrict the number of competencies to a maximum of 12 for any particular role, arranging them into 4 distinct cluster groups to make the framework more accessible to the users.
